Body Maintenance is pleased to be a Massage Therapist Provider for

the Veterans Affair Community Care Program.

Body Maintenance is excited to announce that we have been approved by the Department of Veterans Affair(VA) as a Community Care Provider for Massage Therapy by the VA  Office of Community Care Network Region 3. The Community Care Program provides massage therapy benefits and can be inquired about by veterans though their PCP or local VA office.

Massage therapy and care for the care for our veterans go hand and hand and can help various physical injuries and other ailing conditions. Chronic pain, sleep disorders stress related issues, and many other accepted diagnoses are now eligible for a massage therapy treatment under your VA benefits at Body Maintenance. Research suggest massage therapy can be a viable alternative to treating and decreasing pain meds usage, potentially helping restore function to diminished activities of daily living thereby increasing quality of life, and many even decrease some symptoms of PTSD.

How to get Approval:

Step 1: Visit your VA PCP

            The veteran will need to visit their approved primary care physician to assess if massage therapy is medically necessary.

Step 2: PCP submits a request to the VA

            The primary care physician submits a request to the VA Medical Center to establish medical necessity for massage therapy. Once the VA facility receives the request they will determine the appropriate level of care coordination based on veteran's needs, preferences, and location. They then develop a care plan and assist in scheduling, navigating, or other follow - up activities.

Step 3: VA send authorization to Body Maintenance and we will get you scheduled!

       Once the VA Community Care Center has approved the PCP request an authorization for care will be sent to Body maintenance for massage therapy. we will contact the veteran to arrange for the initial appointment and subsequent visits.
